General comments
BEHANDELING
Milde tot matig ernstige acute infectieuze diarree bij gezonde personen is over het algemeen een ‘self-limiting’ disease en behoeft in principe geen antibiotische behandeling. Empirische antibiotische behandeling is alleen geïndiceerd bij aanhoudende of hoge koorts, bij dysenterie, of als de patiënt immuungecompromitteerd is.
