De totale behandel duur is afhankelijk van de klinische respons en reactie celaantal in ascites
NB. secundaire profylaxe (co-trimoxazol po 960mg 1dd of ciprofloxacin po 400mg 1dd) is geindiceerd bij patienten die een SBP hebben doorgemaakt.
